Author and Illustrator
There are many different versions of hodags in author Jill Kuczmarski's hometown of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, where it is the official mascot. When she was growing up, all of the hodags were shown to be mean and scary. Jill decided to add a new kind of hodag to the northwoods and created Happy the Hodag and Buddy the Bulldog, two super chill and friendly characters for kids.
