Written by Donald P. Sanford, On Fourth Lake: A Social History of Lake Mendota book is a history of one of Madison's many lakes, following the story of people, places, and events that have shaped the shoreline of Lake Mendota. Much like a guided tour, this book will take the reader around the lakeshore from the water. There are over 500 maps, newspaper articles, and photographs in the book, and many of the images were sourced from private collections and have never before been available to the public.
